Background
I made this costume for Halloween in 2020. My husband and I also did a couple's costume with him as Tombo. I added a stuffed Jiji to my shoulder to bring the look together!
The dress is made of a linen blend using a slightly modified Tessuti Bella Dress sewing pattern. I did a lot of research to match the colors of the costume, especially the dress. I even went to the Ghibli museum in 2023 and was very pleased to see that I made the correct choices. The bow is a simple store-bought headband wrapped in satin with a handmade bow attached. I was even able to thrift some screen-accurate flats!
