Cosplay Contact Lens Reviews: Uniqso and Kazzue

I’m trying 4 lenses from Uniqso, featuring 3 pairs from the brand Kazzue and one unique addition!

NOTES ON CONTACT LENS SAFETY:

Contact lenses are considered medical devices by the FDA. In the US you must obtain a prescription from a licensed optometrist or ophthalmologist to order cosplay contacts.

Never use expired or damaged lenses. Never re-use daily contact lenses. For longer term lenses, never reuse contact lens fluid to store your lenses and always use fresh fluid. Always store your right contact in the right side of the case and left contact in the left side of the case to prevent cross-contamination. Always wash your hands with soap and water before putting on the lenses.

Uniqso has a great assortment of very affordable colored contacts for cosplay and I have purchased from them multiple times. One pair that I bought from the Korean brand Kazzue ended up becoming one of my go-to favorites, so I bought two more from the same brand to try plus one unique addition! I love that the Kazzue lenses are a natural diameter and not too big. The free lens cases they provide are actually good quality and not the cheap ones you may be used to that make your fluid evaporate quickly.

TIP: Put your contacts on before doing your makeup (unless you are using low-visibility lenses)! You may need to tug on your skin to put them on and your eyes will likely water a lot. You may also need to use eye drops and tissues to wipe, so putting them on first will prevent ruining your makeup!

All the lenses featured in this blog post are yearly lenses, which means they are reusable with proper care and can last up to a year. I am near-sighted and do have a prescription, so all of them have prescription power as well.

Disclaimer: I purchased all of these lenses with my own money and this post is not sponsored in any way. These are my personal opinions only, based on my own preferences, and I am not an expert!

I have dark eyes so I hope this review is helpful for those of you that have difficulty with colors showing up on your eyes. Here are my bare natural eyes, for reference:

Kazzue Jewel Sapphire

Rating: 10/10

Diameter: 14.0 mm

These were the first lenses I ever bought from Uniqso and they are the Kazzue lenses that made me go back for more! I find them to be incredibly natural looking and comfortable. The color is quite unique - a grayish pale blue with subtle gray ribbons - and shows up beautifully on my dark eyes. I also think they are sultry and sexy!

Kazzue Fantasy Green

Rating: 8/10

Diameter: 14.0 mm

I have been in search of the perfect natural green lenses for a long time. These didn’t hit the mark, but that’s my fault as they are clearly marketed as fantasy-inspired lenses. They are more natural than the Princess Pinky Foxy Green lenses I have previously reviewed, but still quite vibrant and foxy. They look exactly like the product photos! The only thing I don’t like is the black outer rim.

Kazzue Desire Grey

Rating: 5/10

Diameter: 14.0

This one wasn’t quite what I was looking for, but beautiful nonetheless. I wanted a stormier, cooler, darker, and more natural gray. These are more warm with a green undertone and too light to the point of looking almost white on my eyes. I think the “dots” surrounding the iris are unnatural-looking, great for undead eyes. They are pretty seamless and fit for supernatural looks, which is fine, but they looked cooler and darker in the product photos. You can see that the outer line of the contacts look much darker, almost black, in the product photos than what I actually got which is a light gray outline. I don’t know if they updated the production of these lenses, but I feel like I got a completely different lens than what was advertised, which is why I am rating them low. If they had matched the product photos I would have rated them much higher as they are still nice lenses.

Below are the product photos from Uniqso’s site of the Desire Greys, which are on a model with dark brown eyes like mine:

Bonus: Sweety Blossom Blue Margarita

Rating: 10/10

Diameter: 14.5 mm

I wanted to give these a special shout-out because they are the lenses I use most often for Liara. I searched far and wide for a vibrant blue that looked alien-y but not too obviously fake. I like that the diameter is slightly larger than what I normally prefer to make my eyes look bigger. The design reminds me of the surface of ocean water with light blue ribbons running through the darker blue. They are beautiful in an unearthly way.

Final Thoughts

Uniqso is currently my favorite vendor for cosplay contacts. They are affordable, have a wide range of brands, and have reliable shipping. Kazzue is great for natural looking lenses, but Uniqso offers cartoonish, anime, and Halloween contact lenses as well. If you’ve been thinking about buying from Uniqso, I hope my review gives you the push to try them out!
