If you don’t have access to Worbla or don’t want to use it, you can make the mask from just cheap craft foam. Check out my Tiktok tutorial on how to do so below:
Tips & Tricks
If you are not using Worbla and need to shape the craft foam on its own, hold it over an open flame such as a candle instead of using a heat gun. The blowing air from the heat gun can flatten the mask.
You can also try using a thicker craft foam (3mm) to hold the shape better.
Do not overheat the craft foam; it can melt and may no longer hold its shape!
Skin-safe SFX adhesives such as Spirit Gum or Pros-Aide are best for attaching the mask to your face without elastic, especially for long term wear. However, if you are not using Worbla, you can use skin-safe school glue (non-toxic Elmer's glue). This will take longer to dry and you will need to hold the mask to your face for a longer time until it dries.
If you don't want to glue it to your face, you can make holes on the temples of the mask to insert elastic.
